Màira embarked on her artistic journey around the age of nine, under the guidance of her neighbor's art night classes. By day, that same neighbor's art studio metamorphosed into a haven for disabled children and adults, a place where Maira volunteered to help during school holidays. It became an experience that held profound significance for her. It wasn't just about art and creativity; it was about fostering an environment of inclusivity and acceptance. This unique intersection of her passions and values left an indelible mark on her heart, instilling in her a deep yearning to one day create her own artistic sanctuary for young people. You may read more about it on her blogs and art pages link below or connect via Instagram on @myra_wizer_art.
Sarah's love for art also started in her childhood when she used to create plays to present on her birthdays with her family and friends. She went on to explore circus, clowning, dance, and theater, mastering these various forms. Today, she thrives as a skilled face painter and a captivating children's entertainer. Recently, she has beautifully blended her lifelong passion for the arts with a new career path. She's now a dedicated yoga instructor for both adults and children. You may connect with Sarah via her Instagram also at @partywithsarah.
Our classes draw inspiration from a rich tapestry of artistic forms, infusing time to rest and play, always acknowledging deep reverence for nature and animals, gratitude for the sustenance we enjoy, and an exploration of artists from diverse backgrounds worldwide. We create a holistic learning environment that celebrates art's multifaceted beauty while instilling respect for our planet and its inhabitants.
We aim to support parents in our community during school holidays by providing a nurturing space where their children can continue to flourish beyond the confines of home and school. Here, they can explore and nurture their own creativity while thriving in a safe and engaging environment.
Have a question or a story to share? Send us a message here or text Maira on 0414 569 170 and we'll get back to you soon.

The day begins with a warm welcome and drawing, followed by the morning circle and yoga. Afterward, we enjoy morning tea, and straightaway engage in the creative art project. We then take a break for guided/free play or crafting during lunchtime. Following lunch, it’s story or book time, and we resume our art project. Later, we allocate time for a bit more guided play and crafting. Finally, at the end of the day, we select and prepare our own tea before getting ready for the journey home

“Waste to Art” is a creative movement that involves transforming discarded materials and waste items into artistic creations. It’s a way to engage communities in environmental conservation through art, showcasing how reused and recyclable waste materials can be repurposed into beautiful and meaningful works of art. This movement not only promotes environmental awareness but also encourages creativity and innovation by challenging people to look at waste differently and see its potential as an art medium.
“Art classes are typically distinct from craft classes, and each child will work at their own level of expression. It’s important to remember that there is no age boundaries for self-expression in the arts. Our role is to encourage children to express their creativity by inspiring them and providing guidance when necessary. In most cases, we don’t need to intervene, as young minds are endlessly creative. However, some children may enjoy being challenged, and we strive to have a variety of mediums and processes available for different age groups.”

Art for Kids Avalon is a 100% recycled art space where all materials come from places that would otherwise end up in landfills.
We gladly accept new, unused art supplies such as blank canvases and sealed paint. Additionally, we creatively utilize good-quality watercolor paper, even if it has been cut or has one blank side. Here are some items we would greatly appreciate if you no longer need them and see them heading for the trash or council collection:
Literally, if it’s an art supply and you’re considering throwing it away, think of us! 🎨
If you’re uncertain, feel free to send a message to Myra at 0414 569 170, and we’ll let you know if we can put your materials to good use.
